Bhubaneswar: Airfield police arrested a person from Kargil Basti in Bhubaneswar under the POCSO Act Sunday evening over abduction and rape of his minor sister-in-law.

The accused was identified as Silu Swain of Jagatsinghpur district.
Silu had been residing for the last few years at Kargil Basti in Bhubaneswar along with his wife, children and his minor sister-in-law. The accused was a construction worker.
Allegedly, Silu had an illicit affair with his sister-in-law which gave rise to a family feud. After knowing about their illicit relationship, the elder sister of Silu’s wife residing in the same area took her minor sister away from Silu’s house, Airfield police station sources informed.
Later, Silu managed to elope with the minor girl.
Acting on an FIR lodged by the eldest sister against Silu, the Airfield police arrested him. The accused and the minor girl had returned home after 15 days.
A medical examination of the minor girl was conducted.
