Cuttack, Dec 28: Ace sprinters Dutee Chand and Amiya Mallick representing KIIT, set the track ablaze as they sprinted to gold medals in their respective events on the inaugural day of the 63rd State Athletics Meet at the Barabati Stadium here Monday.
In the women’s 100 metres, Dutee bagged the yellow metal clocking 11.60 seconds. Damayanti Barik (12.50s) of Orissa Police secured second position, while Subhashree Tripathy (12.80s) of Cuttack stood third.
In the men’s 100 metres, Amiya took the top honours with a timing of 10.4 seconds. Prabhas Kumar Bagar (11.1s) and Somnath Nayak (11.20s) of Orissa Police finished second and third respectively in the sprint event.
