Moroda: An abandoned baby boy was rescued Sunday morning from a bush near Moroda Stadium in Mayurbhanj district.
A local man Sumant Mukhi spotted the baby during his morning walk and rescued the child. Luckily, the infant survived the chill weather and predators at night and is safe.
Mukhi informed his family members about the incident and brought the newborn to his home. Later, the baby was admitted to Morada hospital for treatment.
Even though the baby did not suffer any injuries and did not show any signs of sickness he will be kept under observation for some time, a source said.
While the reason behind the newborn being dumped there is yet to be known, a couple from the area has come forward and expressed their wish to adopt the baby. A decision on this context is yet to be taken. A discussion with the police and district child welfare committee (CWC) is on, a local man said.
