Bhubaneswar: The state government Thursday transferred three senior police officers including twin-city police commissioner RP Sharma in a major shake-up of the senior IPS cadre in the state.
Sharma, a 1986-batch IPS officer, has been promoted to Director General (DG) rank and has been appointed as the new DG of Vigilance. Sharma was appointed as police commissioner August 12, 2013.
Sharma, who introduced several tech-friendly measures by launching apps such as Mo Sathi, said he would take the help of technology to bolster the anti-corruption investigative unit’s efficacy.
