Bhubaneswar: Praises and wishes are pouring in for Reena Dakua, a resident of Sarakantara area near Bhubaneswar after she successfully foiled a loot bid Saturday evening.
Besides, the miscreants landed in jail owing to her bravery.
According to a source, Reena works at a shopping mall. Like any other day, she was returning home riding a two-wheeler. To receive a call, she stopped her vehicle by the roadside. While she was busy talking over the phone, two bike-borne miscreants came from behind and tried to snatch away her mobile phone.
Instead of getting frightened, Reena displayed immense courage and resisted the loot bid. In the process, the trio fell off their vehicles. Despite being injured, Reena fought with the miscreants to save her mobile phone. While she could manage to catch hold of one, the other one was attempting to escape from the spot.
But by that time, the melee had already attracted the attention of passersby and local people. They came rushing to her rescue and nabbed both the snatchers.
After giving them a good thrashing, they handed them over to Khandagiri police.
