Cuttack, April 10: Khurda clinched the Nalco Cup hockey title scripting a 3-0 win via a penalty shoot-out against Sundargarh at the Barabati Stadium here Saturday. Both teams failed to score in the regulation period after which tie-breaker was employed to break the stalemate.
The game however, was quite exciting with both the sides adopting an attacking approach. However, both teams were guilty of missing quite a few chances and that kept the scoresheet blank in regulation time.
In the shoot-out, Khurda comfortably scored off their first three attempts through Prasan Tirkey, Alok Barla and Kunjan Topno
while Sundargarh missed three successive attempts and ended up as runner-ups.
