New Delhi: A person from Odisha has been arrested in the drug case involving Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan, according to the ‘India Today’ website. The man is the 11th person to be arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in the sensational drug case involving high profile youngsters like Aryan Khan. The NCB however, has not disclosed the Odia man’s identity, but it said drugs have been recovered in small quantities from the person.

Earlier Monday, the NCB claimed before a city court that ‘shocking and incriminating’ material recovered in WhatsApp chats of Aryan Khan and two others. All three were among the nine people arrested in connection with the seizure of banned drugs from a cruise ship off the city coast. The NCB claimed that it had proof that the three did dealings with international drug cartel. The nine have been remanded to police custody till October 7.

The NCB also claimed that in the WhatsApp chats Aryan discussed modes of payment to be done for procurement (of drugs). It claimed that several code names are being used. Aryan’s lawyer claimed no drugs were recovered from his client’s possession. Among others who have been remanded to police custody are Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha. It has been said Aryan and Munmun have been dating for quite some time now. All the three were in the cruise ship and drugs were found in the possession of Dhamecha.

The judge has also remanded to the NCB custody till October 7, the six other accused who were arrested in the case late Sunday night. All the nine were produced in court Monday.

The six others arrested in the case are Nupur Satija, Ishmeet Chadha, Mohak Jaiswal, Gomit Chopra, Vikrant Chhokar and a drug supplier from suburban Juhu (name not disclosed). The supplier was arrested later.

The court, in its order, noted that the investigation in the case was of prime importance and considering this aspect, the further presence of the accused before the NCB was necessary.

“The fact is that the co-accused in the case was found in possession of intermediate drugs and the three accused (Aryan Khan, Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha) were accompanying them. Investigation is of prime importance and presence of the accused is needed for detailed investigation. It is useful for both the prosecution and the accused to prove their innocence,” the court observed.
