Bhubaneswar, June 7: A video of the film song ‘Dhire Dhire’, the first sung by Indian Idol Junior winner Ananya Sritam Nanda, has crossed 1 lakh views on YouTube within a fortnight. The song is one of the numbers in Agastya, a film set for release this Raja. On average, the song is receiving 12,500 views a day.

“This is incredible,” Ananya told Orissa POST. “No Oriya song till date has performed so brilliantly on digital platforms in such a short while. It was unexpected and I am thankful to fans who liked it.”

Music director Prem Anand, too, expressed happiness about the song’s patronage. Humane Sagar, the male co-singer of the duet, has also done a good job, according to Prem.

The audience has accepted all songs in the movie but ‘Dhire Dhire’ is the best of the lot and juke box of the movie has crossed 72,000 views. Another song ‘Tipi Tipi’ has received 50,000 views, while the title track has received 30,000 views. The song “Rama re Rama re” has more than 20,000 views in just a week.

Producer Akshay Kumar Parija said Ananya had sung the song wonderfully. Success is never a destination, it’s a journey — so we are looking forward to 1 million views, Parija added.

Ananya’s father also said the performance of ‘Dhire Dhire’ was phenomenal. And for Ananya fan Sagarika the song presented a fascinating experience: “I asked my friends to watch the video and they also felt the same.”

Another release
While songs of Agastya are doing well on the internet, a triad of young music composers from the state — Sudeep Pravu, Biswajit Mahapatra and Sameet Pattnaik — is set to release their first song ‘Sunle Maula’ online. The song is aimed at creating awareness against child labour and trafficking. India’s Raw Star winner and playback singer Rituraj Mohanty has sung the song.

The Hindi number is a Sufi prayer for underprivileged children. The lyrics are in the form of a prayer to the Almighty to make this world a better place for deprived children. Sameet Pattnaik has written the song and says he wanted to generate awareness about such sensitive issues through the verses.

Sameet is also founder of Bhubaneswar-based firm Aura Production which is into music, entertainment and talent management.

According to sources, UNICEF Orissa chapter has joined hands with the musicians to support and promote the song as it is impressed by the composition. UNICEF is also reportedly planning to release the song at a state-level conference in Bhubaneswar June 12, which is the World Day against Child Labour.

‘Sunle Maula’ has also been appreciated by composers such as Ram Sampath and Sachin Gupta who are keen to watch the video when it is released June 12.
