Dabugaon: Taking advantage of the simplicity of tribals, land mafia is on a spree to grab land by using fraudulent means.
Such a case has come to light in Dhamnaguda village of Jharigaon tehsil under local police limits in Nabarangpur district.
According to reports, a plot admeasuring two acres and 52 cent (with khata no-62 and plot no-732) has been recorded in the names of Buduram Gouda – son of Puran Gouda, Mura Gouda-son of Chaitan Gouda, Damu Gouda-son of Phula Singh Gouda and Ranadi Gouda-wife of Phulasingh Gouda.
However, land brokers managed to sell out the share of Buduram Gouda by misleading the other tenants of the said khata and plot number, said Buduram’s daughter Chaiti Gouda (65), who inherits an acre and 50 cent, in her complaint. The tenants in connivance with land mafia declared her dead during the deal which was struck in last 15 days, Chaiti alleged and added that her share was sold to a woman of Umerkote area.
Mura’s son Arjun, Damu and Ranadi took advantage of her simplicity and duped her, the woman said.
She demanded an immediate investigation in to the matter and sought justice from the authorities. PNN
