Bhubaneswar, June 15: The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has decided to submit its report on the alleged mismanagement of Lord Jagannath’s Brahma Paribartan rituals after this Rath Yatra, sources said Wednesday.
The aim is to facilitate smooth conduct of the annual Rath Yatra.
“We have completed hearing of all stakeholders and recorded the statements of all parties. We will submit the inquiry report on the mismanagement of secret rituals (Brahma Paribartan) during Nabakalebara festival held last year, after the upcoming Rath Yatra festival,” SJTA chief administrator Suresh Chandra Mohapatra said.
“At present, we are busy with the repair of Jagamohan of the Puri temple and smooth conduct of this annual Rath Yatra,” he said.
The report will name those who were responsible for the mismanagement of the rituals and also make recommendations about measures that can be taken to avoid such incidents in future, he said.
All formalities have been completed, but the temple administration has not yet submitted the report as it may create problems during the upcoming Rath Yatra, said a senior official of SJTA.
“If the report indicates that action should be taken against some servitors or recommend strictures for them, servitors will definitely start protesting. This may create problems for the temple administration,” the official said.
Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingh Deb had recently asked SJTA to submit the report on the Brahma Paribartan fiasco during last year’s Nabakalebara.
SJTA had June 24 last year suspended Jayakrushna Dasmohapatra and Kashinath Dasmohapatra from Daita Seva for an indefinite period for the inordinate delay in the Brahma Paribartan. It had also brought four Badagrahis of Daitapati Niyog and five senior Daitapatis under the purview of its investigation and interrogated Biswakarma Maharana, Deulakarana and the Brahmanas of the Mukti Mandap, sources said.
