Bhubaneswar, June 15: A fresh complaint was registered at Badagada police station Wednesday against industrialist Trailokya Mishra for allegedly threatening, disrobing, assaulting and conspiring against his daughter-in-law.
Trailokya’s daughter-in-law Lopamudra also named her husband Sabyasachi Mishra and mother-in-law Manjurani Mishra as accused in the case.
Lopamudra alleged half-a-dozen persons had gone to her uncle’s house, where she is residing with her son, and threatened to kill her if she further proceeded in the case or went to the media.
“They put a knife at my neck and threatened to abduct my son if I went ahead in the case. They also hurled abuses at me in front of my son,” Lopamudra alleged.
Madhyam member Subhrashree Das who accompanied Lopamudra said Sabyasachi never promised anything in written during counselling sessions between the couple.
Madhyam, an initiative supported by commissionerate police, mediates between estranged couples before legal action is taken. Das told Orissa POST the couple had gone to her in the past but Sabyasachi would promise that he would behave better and not beat up his wife or persuade her to withdraw cases.
Lopamudra earlier lodged a case of dowry torture against Mishras at Mahila police May 10. But, after being disappointed with the tardy pace of the case, she went public Tuesday and alleged her husband had often assaulted her after she declined to be part of his wife-swapping proposal.
