Koraput: Four persons including three girls have reportedly drowned Thursday after the boat they were travelling on capsized in Semiliguda in Koraput district.
Sources said that eight persons were travelling on the boat and were going from Tentulipada to watch an opera show when the boat capsized at Podagada jetty. Locals reported the incident to both the police and the fire services. On getting information, fire services personnel reached the spot and started rescue operations. While they managed to rescue four out of the eight who were travelling on the boat, the four others remained untraceable. Officials said that the chances of their survival are minimal.
The others which include three girls namely Sabitri Krishnani, Rama Krishnani and Babita Hental of Mukhibidei village, are still missing. Rescue operations are on till the time of filing this report.
