Bhadrak: The district administration has once again extended the prohibitory orders under Section 144 of CrPC as a precautionary measure around the Facor plant at Randia in Bhadrak district. The curbs will remain in force within a 200-meter radius of the plant.
Meanwhile, one of the two critically burnt operators succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at National Burn Centre in Mumbai, Sunday night. The deceased was identified as Ratikanta Sutar, a native of Korant village.
Notably, two persons, both working as charging operators sustained critical burn injuries while charging the blast furnace at the Facor plant in Randia, Tuesday. With no sign of development in the situation, this is the third extension of the enforcement in a row.
Sources said that the restriction has been extended for another 48 hours and will remain in force in the area from 6 am, Monday till 6 am, Wednesday. The decision to extend the prohibitory order came after the district Collector Siddheswar Baliram Bondar and Balasore SP Sagarika Nath held talks with the chief executive officer (CEO) of the company. The Collector said the company’s CEO has assured to provide all financial assistance to the deceased’s family members and to appoint his widow in the company. He said that they will take care to ensure cent per cent security and protection in and around the plant and the blast furnace of the plant will be verified through a special team from Finland and South Africa. The SP urged all to maintain peace and not to take law into their own hands.
