New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, during his visit to the national capital Thursday, held key meetings with Union ministers Bhupender Yadav and Ashwini Vaishnaw, focusing on a wide array of development issues concerning Odisha. In his meeting with Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav, Majhi discussed matters related to environmental conservation, forest management, climate resilience, and sustainable development—the discussion aimed to align Odisha’s environmental goals with national efforts toward ecological preservation and climate action.
Later, the Chief Minister met Union Minister for Railways, Information & Broadcasting, and Electronics & IT, Ashwini Vaishnaw. The talks centered on expanding railway infrastructure in the state, boosting the semiconductor industry, and strengthening the state’s growing IT sector. Majhi also paid a courtesy visit to Union Minister for Housing & Urban Affairs Manohar Lal and exchanged views on urban development priorities and housing initiatives. The CM was in the national capital to participate in SEMICON India 2025 and the GST Council Meeting. During SEMICON, the state government signed memorandums of understanding (MoU) worth Rs 2,655 crore with leading industry players, aiming to bolster investment and industrial growth in the state.
Additionally, the Chief Minister inaugurated Omfed Café and Koraput Coffee Café at Odisha Niwas, promoting local dairy and coffee products from Odisha in the national capital. Speaking to the media after the GST Council Meeting, CM Majhi praised the Union government’s recent GST reforms, describing them as “historic and people-centric.”
He commended the leadership of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, stating that the reforms support Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a “Developed India by 2047,” and would significantly contribute to economic growth and ease of living.
