Bhubaneswar: The state Tourism department, which is organising Orissa Travel Bazaar (OTB) 2017 for three days in October, has launched a dedicated website www.odishatravelbazar.com and a logo to brand the event nationally and internationally.
The department is organising OTB-2017 in association with Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) from October 15 to 17 here.
Officials said the basic objective of state tourism is to create adequate infrastructure within the state, attract more visitors and prolong their stay in the state and promote and market Orissa products in the source markets as preferred destinations. With that objective in mind, multiple events have been lined up like IATO Annual Convention from September 7 to 10 and Orissa Travel Bazaar in October.
About 40 foreign tour operators, 20 inbound operators and 10 domestic tour operators and selected airline operators are likely to participate. This is an exclusive B2B event of hosted buyers and sellers where 56 stakeholders from the state are taking part in the event as sellers, officials said.
State Tourism is redefining its strategies to promote its destinations by inviting more tour operators, travel agents, travel writers and TV teams through its hospitality programmes to educate them about the state and promote it, they said.
To promote this event nationally, one road show was successfully organised in New Delhi August 22 and one more will be held in Mumbai shortly, officials added.
