Bhubaneswar: In a major push to strengthen the state’s public healthcare system, the Health and Family Welfare Department has initiated the recruitment of 1,726 technical healthcare personnel to enhance the quality and accessibility of medical services across the state.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Mukesh Mahaling said the recruitment drive reflects the state government’s commitment to bolstering healthcare infrastructure under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.
“Under the leadership of the chief minister, the Health department has been continuously strengthening its workforce. Our primary objective is to eliminate staff shortages in medical institutions and ensure patients receive quality health care services without inconvenience,” the minister said.
The department has proposed the appointment of 1,108 Pharmacist Officers to strengthen medicine dispensing and pharmaceutical services, 238 Ophthalmic Officers to enhance eye care services, and 380 Medical Lab Technicians to improve disease diagnosis and laboratory testing.
The proposal has already received approval from the Finance Department. The recruitment drive is aimed at addressing the shortage of skilled healthcare personnel in government hospitals and health institutions while ensuring efficient and timely healthcare delivery to the public.
The department said all the posts will be filled through a transparent and regular recruitment process in the coming days.
The move is expected to significantly improve pharmaceutical services, eye care, and diagnostic facilities in government healthcare institutions across Odisha.
