Bhubaneswar: Satwik Patnaik emerged as the Odisha topper in NEET-UG as 11.21 lakh candidates qualified in the medical entrance examination this year, according to the National Testing Agency (NTA), which announced the results Thursday. Punjab’s Aryan Gupta and Haryana’s Panshul Bansal topped the examination, each scoring 715 out of 720. Odis ha topper Satwik secured a remarkable 99.9978999 percentile and an All India Rank of 40, placing him among the country’s top performers in the prestigious medical entrance examination.
According to the NTA, 19 candidates scored 700 marks, while 138 secured 690. As many as 1,492 candidates scored 650 or above, while 10,160 scored 600 or more. More than 58 per cent of the qualified candidates are women. The examination, originally conducted May 9, was cancelled by the NTA May 12 following allegations of a paper leak. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is investigating the matter. The examination was re-conducted June 21.
