Bhubaneswar: State government has stepped up measures to ensure adequate and equitable supply of fertilisers during the Kharif 2026 season, said an official Friday. Following the Centre’s allocation of different varieties of fertilisers, adequate stocks have been positioned with MARKFED, Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS), Large-Sized Adivasi Multipurpose Cooperative Societies (LAMPCS), and authorised retail dealers.
An integrated monthly supply plan has been prepared in coordination with central authorities, fertiliser manufacturers, MARKFED and other stakeholders to ensure timely replenishment and uninterrupted supply. Manufacturers and MARKFED have been directed to maintain supplies to grassroots-level cooperative societies based on their requirements and stock positions.
To prevent black marketing, hoarding, artificial shortages, and illegal diversion of fertilisers, Collectors and District Magistrates have been asked to closely monitor distribution and take strict action against violations, including unauthorised transportation across state borders.
The government has advised farmers not to panic over fertiliser availability, assuring them that coordinated measures are in place to ensure smooth supplies throughout the Kharif season, added the official.
