Baripada/Bhubaneswar: Schools across Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district will remain closed Saturday as heavy rainfall continues to affect the region, with the administration prioritising the safety of students and school staff.
The closure applies to all government and private schools, including higher secondary institutions, following forecasts of heavy rain in the district. The administration has taken the precautionary step to prevent students and staff from facing difficulties while travelling amid the adverse weather.
The district administration is closely monitoring the situation and has instructed officials to remain prepared to respond to any weather-related emergency.
Officials told not to leave headquarters
In a separate directive, all government officials in Mayurbhanj have been asked not to leave their respective headquarters without prior permission from higher authorities.
The move is aimed at ensuring that officials remain available for emergency response and coordination if rainfall intensifies or conditions deteriorate in any part of the district.
