Bhubaneswar: Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha, has approved the introduction of Healthcare and Apparels as two new trade subjects for Class XI and XII students under the Integrated Vocational Stream, sources said.
The decision was reportedly taken at a recent meeting of the CHSE Academic Committee following a proposal from the Odisha School Education Programme Authority (OSEPA).
After detailed deliberations, the committee approved the inclusion of the two sectors, along with their corresponding job roles, in the vocational curriculum for higher secondary students, sources said.
Under the Healthcare course, students will be trained for the job role of General Duty Assistant Trainee. The Apparels course will prepare students for employment as Assistant Fashion Designers, they added.
The committee has also decided to adopt the standard syllabus, curriculum and learning materials developed by the Pandit Sunderlal Sharma Central Institute of Vocational Education (PSSCIVE), Bhopal, under the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT).
