Bhubaneswar: Raising concerns over the fairness and transparency of online recruitment examinations, job aspirants in Odisha have appealed to the state government to conduct all government recruitment tests in offline Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) mode.
The aspirants have expressed dissatisfaction with several aspects of the online examination system, particularly the normalisation and percentile-based evaluation process, technical glitches and variations in question paper difficulty across different examination shifts.
They said technical disruptions, including server issues and other system-related problems, could affect candidates’ performance and create uncertainty in the recruitment process.
They have also raised concerns over questions allegedly set outside the prescribed syllabus and errors in question papers.
The aspirants have further questioned the fairness of conducting examinations in multiple shifts, pointing out that differences in question paper difficulty could lead to concerns over equal opportunities for all candidates.
Referring to a recent corrigendum issued by the State Selection Board (SSB) regarding the conduct of an examination in online mode, they urged the authorities to reconsider the decision and opt for the traditional OMR-based examination system.
