A school for twins

In an interesting fact, the spectacle of as many as 28 pairs of twins in a single school is something to watch out for.

Yes, there is a school in Chitoor in Madhya Pradesh where only twins attend the school. The school- Camford English Medium High School is built specifically to encourage twins for better education and living. These apart, normal students also attend the school.

“These twins are studying from LKG to Class X here, and it is a unique feature. It all started in the year 2006, when we identified 16 pairs of twins in the school. It prompted the management to have a special day for them, and the first Twins Day was celebrated that year,” school correspondent, Mr C. Mahesh said.

The twins have been increasing ever year. At first, there were few twins. But, now it has touched 28, of whom 10 pairs are girls, 12 pairs are boys and six pairs are boys and girls, he added.

The school authorities make sure to provide all the facilities for the day. The Twin Day is also celebrated with equal valour in this school to make sure that the students do not get alienated from other normal students.

As mark of Twins Day, students arrive on the campus in colourful clothes, accompanied by their parents. Later, they gathered at one place. They had a great time together, playing various games. The day ended on a happy note, with the management handing over gifts to them.

Mr. Mahesh has a point here. “Whenever twins are born in Chittoor and surrounding areas, their parents invariably think of Camford School. It has now become more of a local sentiment,” he said.
