Yes, you heard it right. There is a temple of Yamraaj in Bharmour of Chamba district in Himachal Pradesh. Locals say there is an empty room in this temple which is considered as the room of Chitragupta.
According to the belief, when a person dies, his soul is first brought to this room after death. Chitragupta is the secretary of Yamraaj who keeps account of the deeds of human beings.
Chitragupta gives full details of the soul and then the soul is taken into chamber of Chitragupta, where Yamraj decides its fate, whether to send it to hell or heaven.
This room is called the court of Yamraaj where decision is taken about the soul. People here believe that this temple has four invisible doors which are made of gold, silver, copper and iron.
After the decision of Yamraaj, the Yamdoots move souls to heaven or hell from these gates according to deeds. While it might sound strange for many, people here have believed this for years together and some have even witnesses the miracle.
