Actor Aditya Pancholi nabbed for pub brawl

Mumbai, March 8: Bollywood actor Aditya Pancholi was arrested Sunday for a brawl in a pub, officials here said adding he was later granted bail by a Mumbai magistrate.

‘‘Aditya was arrested today morning… He had a fight with one of the bouncers at a Hotel Sea Princess,’’ an official told the media. According to police, Pancholi (50), assaulted a security guard (bouncer) at the pub. The incident occurred Saturday midnight at the Trilogy Pub in Sea Princess, adjacent to Juhu Beach.
An allegedly inebriated Pancholi asked the DJ to play some favourite Hindi movie songs since only western numbers were being played, but the DJ rejected his request.
Pancholi had a loud argument with the DJ and even caused some damage to the pub counter, following which the hotel security staff intervened and asked the actor to leave the premises.
Enraged by this, Pancholi abused and pushed the security guard, Mandar Patole (28), and whacked him on the head with his mobile even as he was being excorted out of the hotel.
The Santacruz police, who were summoned by the hotel, whisked him away and after conducting a medical test, placed him under arrest early Sunday.
He was charged under various sections pertaining to criminal intimidation, public nuisance and breach of peace, and assault charges by the
police.
He was presented in a magistrate’s court at Bandra, which granted him bail after judicial remand. IANS
