Jeypore: In a major crackdown, Jeypore police Thursday night busted a fake spices manufacturing factory at PR Petta Lane here in Koraput district.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team conducted a raid and made the seizure. A man named Harihar Patra has been detained by the police in this connection. During search, a huge cache of raw material and adulterated spices of several brands were seized.
The police have also seized labels of various brands and machinery used for packing the spices. “We raided the house of Harihara Patra at PR Petta Lane and seized several raw materials and other items,” IIC Jeypore Town police station, Baleswar Giddhi said.
The fake spices were transported to Jeypore from Berhampur.
