New Delhi: There is a sense of awakening in the industry across the globe, in terms of women opening up about their sexual predators.
It all started with the #MeToo movement in the west.
The spirit had its impact in India as well. Recently, Bollywood actress Tanushree Dutta spoke on getting assaulted and harassed by Bollywood’s veteran actor Nana Patekar. This created a furor in the industry. While there’s a chaos in the country amidst all the confusion, there’s another TV actress who has spoken about her sexual predator, albeit without mentioning his name.
Sarah Hyland, who is popularly known for her series Modern Family, opened about her sexual assault. It happened when she was in high school. The actress took to Twitter to narrate her story.
“He was a friend. It was New Year’s Eve my senior year of high school. Everyone was drunk. He broke in to the bathroom I was in,” the 27-year-old wrote in her post. She further added, “I hoped it was a dream but my ripped tights in the morning proved otherwise. I thought no one would believe me. I didn’t want to be called dramatic. After all I didn’t say no. Shock can do that to a person.”

She shared her ordeal on the app, using the hashtag #whyididntreport. Well, it’s great to hear that finally, women are opening up about these issues. Tanushree recently during a media interaction, also revealed why #MeToo movement makes no sense here in India.
In an explosive interview, she said that Indians are not worthy of #MeToo movement as victims get slut shammed here for opening up.
