Dhenkanal: An ailing elephant was found lying in a forest near Jhurudanali-Jhili village under Parajang block in Dhenkanal forest division, officials said Friday.
Locals spotted the injured pachyderm and immediately alerted the forest officials, who along with veterinary doctors reached the spot. Acting swiftly, forest personnel and veterinarians assessed the condition of the elephant. The treatment was assisted by a tranquilising team from Bhubaneswar, officials said.
The tusker was treated by the veterinary team a few days back. The animal suffered an injury on his leg.
