BHUBANESWAR: The Double Cap Challenge keeps sweeping social media feeds ever since it came into vogue a week ago. The challenger is supposed to untwist a cap with a roundhouse kick.

It must be noted that the cap should just fly off the bottle, which should remain stationary at that particular moment. Also, the entire challenge has to be recorded in slow motion to understand whether you’ve actually made it.

The Bottle Cap Challenge reportedly originated June 25, courtesy of Taekwondo instructor and fighter Farabi Davletchin which was more popularised by Hollywood action star Jason Statham.

In India, the Bottle Cap Challenge spread in big way. The challenge was led by Akshay Kumar who after being inspired by Jason Statham attempted the challenge and did it in a single attempt.

This was followed by the challenge going viral with many celebrities such as Siddhant Chaturvedi, Dino Morea, Tiger Shroff, Sidharth Malhotra, Sushmita Sen and others trying it successfully. Some actors such as Kunal Khemu, Sunil Grover and Shreyas Talpade added a comic twist to the videos by opening the cap with hands.

Many Akshay fans attempted the challenge in the state. Many of the fans were members of the group Odisha Akkians who celebrate every release of Akshay Kumar in city theatres.

Rakesh said, “Akshay Kumar is not just a great actor. He is also the fittest actor of the industry who does most of the stunts in his movies himself. He advises all to focus on staying fit. He walks the talk by following a strict and healthy lifestyle.”

Another fan Sagar Swarup said, “I am following Akshay Sir since my childhood. I saw the video in Twitter and decided to attempt this challenge.”

In recent times many social media challenges made headlines in the country and abroad. While some of those challenges like ‘Momo’ and ‘Kiki’ made everyone scared, others such as ‘What the Fluff’ and ‘Neymar’ challenges are adorable.

In the Kiki challenge, which was made popular by rapper Drake, everyone tried their own version which included participants coming out of a moving car, leaving the door open and then dance to the song beside their slow-moving vehicle as it cruises down the street.

The Neymar challenge was inspired by the on-field antics of Brazilian sensation Neymar Jr in the Fifa World Cup. Upon receiving a minor nudge from an opponent, he kept rolling on the pitch in order to prompt the referee to show a card.
