Bhubaneswar, July 21: The Game of Thrones (GOT) is back on the small screens. The popular show is set to turn its fans into couch potatoes, glued to the idiot box to catch a glimpse of their favourite warriors. But, there’s a twist for the fans in Bhubaneswar. Their GOT craze will not be confined within the four walls of the drawing room. They can flaunt their GOT love at a city café. Well, it’s not a regular café. It is a Game of Thrones themed café, located at the heart of the city in Saheed Nagar area. The cafés interior has been revamped to fit the GOT theme. It has a special corner titled ‘All Men Must Dine’—a modification of the famous GOT dialogue “all men must die.” The café serves regular food items. But, there’s a little drama in its presentation of the items. They have dishes named after important characters or events in the show. Some of these items are Valhar Bolognese noodles, Fire and Ice-cream, Red Wedding cupcakes , Hound’s fried chicken,
Kings layer Panini Sandwich, and chicken little finger. The café has flags of the houses like Stark, Arryn, Baratheon, Tully, Greyjoy, Lannister, Tyrell, Martell and Targaryen. They also screen the show for the visitors at the café. They have been screening a video, showing the making of the popular series. They have even hosted a quiz on GOT for the visitors. Discounts are offered to the winners of the quiz. “We wanted to do something unique for the customers. The show is very popular among the youngsters for its multifaceted characters, story and production values. We gave a new look to the café, a day before the season 7 was premiered, July 17,” said Samir Sheikh, manager of the café said. “It’s a first-of-its-kind café in the city. My favourite character on the show is Arya Stark, played by Maisie Williams,” said Sambit Satpathy, who has visited the café and is a die-hard fan of the show.
“Season 7 is going to be very exciting. A lot action and suspense will definitely be in store for us. It’s great that we will now be able to enjoy the show in a different style— sitting at a café with friends and gorging onto some yummy wraps and rolls,” Simmy De, a local, said.
