All-round Priyanka show ensures win

Cuttack, March 18: Priyanka Sahu’s (151 n o, five wickets) all-round performance helped Bhubaneswar register an emphatic 128 runs victory against Khurda in a Super League match of the OCA Inter-District Women’s cricket tournament at the Bidanasi Ground here Wednesday. With the victory, Bhubaneswar qualified for the semifinals and will meet Keonjhar March 20. In the other semifinal, Bolangir will face Cuttack.
Opting to bat first, Bhubaneswar scored 261 runs for the loss of five wickets with Priyanka dominating the bowling completely. She was well-supported by Sujata Mallik (54). In reply, Khurda could manage only 133 runs as Priyanka scythed through their top order.

(At SCB Ground): Balasore 75 (Bandana P Hanuman 3/11, Madhuri Meheta 3/12) tied with Bolangir 75.
Rousing welcome
Lifters Pramila Kirsani and Swarupa Purti were given a grand welcome by their Bhubaneswar Sports Hostel inmates upon their arrival in here Wednesday after bagging medals in the Senior National Weightlifting Championship in Jaipur March 11-15.
In the 53kg women’s category Pramila claimed three gold medals while in the 58kg event, Swarupa won a bronze in the snatch event by lifting 83kg.
“I am happy with my performance. On the basis of my achievements I have been selected for the national camp for the forthcoming Rio Olympic Games,” stated Pramila.
Team selection
Rourkela Karate Association (RKA) will organise a selection camp at Basanti Cultural Association Hall in Rourkela, March 22 to select the team for the 27th State Karate Championships in Bhuba- neswar April 1-3.
