All set for Vedavyas Shravana Mela

Rourkela: In view of Sharavana Mela beginning July 30 at Vedavyas shrine here, a preparatory meeting was held under the chairmanship of Sundargarh Collector Surendra Kumar Meena at the conference hall of ADM Monisa Banerjee Friday.

Underscoring the need for the peaceful conduct of the mela the Collector asked the officials of various departments to ensure that all possible measures are taken to ward off inconvenience to the devotees.

Various issues like protective measure at river ghat, barricades near the temple, uninterrupted power supply, traffic control, healthcare facilities and repair of roads were discussed at the meeting.

It was decided to draft teams of doctors to serve Kawarias coming reaching the shrine Mondays and Sundays.

The Collector advised all officials to ensure success of the mela.

ADM Manisa Banerjee, RMC chairperson Sushma Bilung, Panposh sub-collector Biswajit Mohapatra and officials of RSP (CSR wing), R&B department, PHD, Wesco, fire department and police were present.

Vedavyas Trust Board chairperson Anupam Ray and members Golap Koushik, Ramakant Biswal, Ramesh Agrawal, Santosh Sahu and Pramod Pradhan took part in the discussions.

The Shravana Mela will conclude August 27.
