Cuttack, April 21: Amateur Cricket Club (ACC) defeated Sunrise Cricket Club (SCC) by three wickets to win the PVR Murthy Inter-Club cricket tournament at the BOSE Ground here Tuesday.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, SCC posted 172 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs. Lokaranjan Routray (75, 48b, 9×4, 4×6) and Roshan Swain (31, 30b, 4×4, 1×6) took SCC to a healthy score. Santosh Jena (2/30) and Sanjib Barik (2/12) bowled well for ACC.
In reply, ACC chased down the target with two balls to spare. Tapendra Singh (33, 22b, 4×4, 1×6) batted well down the order. Sanjib (23, 12b, 3×4, 1×6) and Santosh (29, 11b, 1×4, 3×6) played useful knocks. Santosh was adjudged man of the match for his all-round show.
KISS face DAV
KISS School, Bhubaneswar got the better of P. M. Academy School by 68 runs to enter the final of the PVR Murthy Inter-School cricket tournament at the Bhuvananda Engineering Ground here Tuesday.
Put into bat, KISS scored 150 for seven thanks to a steady innings of 45 (52b, 4×4, 1×6) from Rama Chandra Majhi. In reply, P.M. Academy School were bundled out for 82. Only Gyanaranjan Behera (31) provided some resistance. Jogibar Tiria (3/22), Rama Chandra (2/6) and Deula Singh (2/17) starred with the ball for KISS. Rama Chandra got the man of the match award for his all-round display. This incidentally was his second man of the match award in succession.
KISS will meet DAV Public School, Cuttack in the final.
