Amitabh, Ayushmann to come together in Sircar’s ‘Gulabo Sitabo’

Actors Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana will play the lead roles in director Shoojit Sircar’s next venture – a comedy film titled ‘Gulabo Sitabo’. This is the first time that the two actors will be sharing screen space together.

‘Big B’ as the legendary Bachchan is popularly known as had acted in Sircar’s ‘Piku’ while Khurrana had featured in the director’s ‘Vicky Donor’.

“The script was ready, but I was unsure whether I would get dates from the two… as both are very busy,” Sircar has been quoted as saying by a website. “But the moment, the two heard the storyline, they agreed to do the project. They are very excited,” Sircar added.

The script for the film has been written by Juhi Chaturvedi and will be produced by Ronnie Lahiri and Sheel Kumar.

“Me and Juhi have been working for the script for a while now and as we all know when Juhi comes up with a story it has her trademark quirk in it,” Sircar has said in a statement.

The film’s story is based in Lucknow and Gulabo Sitabo is a fun colloquial metaphor used by the locals…as to its connect to the story, wait and watch the film to know more’, said Sircar.

Shooting of the film will start in a short while and it is expected to hit the screens in November this year.
