Amiya gets highest career break

 

Bhubaneswar: Senior player Amiya Ranjan Nayak trounced state junior champion Rahul Nayak 3-0 in a match of the VIIth MIET All Orissa Open Snooker Championships at the Vintage Club here Friday. In the process, Amiya achieved the his first half century break of his career when he accumulated 53 points on one visit to the table.

In another Clash Satyajyoti Mohanty stunned Ahsan Ul Haque 3-1 in his first match. But in his next match Satyajyoti lost to Mishal Swain 1-3.

Aditya clinches title

Aditya Satpathy of Orissa emerged champion of the boys’ U-18 singles title of the 17th AITA Championship Series tennis tournament beating A Akhilendra of Karnataka 6-1, 6-3 in the final at Lucknow, Friday. It was a good victory considering that Aditya was out of action for over six months due to a knee injury.
