Cuttack, June 5: Twenty eight players are leading the pack in the open category, with two points each after the second round of the Orissa State U-11 Chess Championship here Friday.
Top seed Sambit Panda beat Ashis Kumar Sahoo, second seed Mahitosh Dey prevailed over Abhigyan Mohanty while third seed Dikshant Dash got the better of Abhijit Nayak.
In the girls’ segment, 12 players are sharing the top spot with two points apiece. Top seed Ankita Sahoo outwitted Amrusha Mohanty, while third seed Sampanna Hota downed Ananya Anamika. However, second seed Anushka Mohanty was stunned by 18th seed Ananya Anindita Mohanty.
