Keonjhar: Police here arrested another accused in connection with the viral video case wherein intimate images and video picture of a woman candidate were shared across social network platforms.
The arrested man has been identified as Prashant Mishra. He was arrested Sunday. There are at least four persons behind the bars in this case so four.
“Mishra who was running a web channel at one point is associated in the case,” the police claimed. “Efforts are on to nab his accomplices,” sub divisional police officer PJ Toppo told reporters.
On a complaint from the victim’s uncle, Keonjhar police arrested Jayadev Giri and his associate Bishnudutta Barik in this case. The two have been accused of uploading and posting the video and photographs on social media which went viral later.
Political observers here believe that Opposition parties are behind the act to tarnish the image of the candidate keeping the upcoming general elections in mind. Polling here will take place this April 23.
