Anupama sets high goals

Bhubaneswar, April 3: In a major development for the sport, Anupama Swain of Orissa has been selected as the only player from the state to represent the national team in the forthcoming Dubai Open Karate 1 Premier League (KPL) at Dubai, April 7-10. To honour her achievements, the Utkal Karate School (UKS) felicitated Anupama at its premises Sunday. All the members of UKS including secretary Hari Patnaik wished Anupama good luck.
“I’m very much excited about the tournament and feeling proud that I am representing my country in an international event,” said Anupama. “I will try my utmost to get the best possible results. I have the chance to win a medal, if I perform to my potential. Overall, it will be a good experience for me.”
“The level of competition will be pretty tough there as participants across the globe are taking part. But I have left no stones unturned about my preparation. So I am feeling pretty confident about a good show,” Anupama asserted with confidence.
Speaking about her preparations, the lithe lass said, “I have prepared well under the guidance of Hari (Patnaik) sir. He has given me some invaluable tips, which I think will be the key for me.” Anupama, who is currently working under Commissionerate of Police, Bhubaneswar will leave for the tournament, Monday.
