Chennai: Arijit Mahapatra of Orissa advanced into the final of the 91kg super heavy weight category beating Kapil of Maharashtra in the ongoing 46th Junior Men’s National Boxing Championships here, Tuesday. In the quarterfinals bout Monday, he defeated Konda Sai Charan of Telengana. He will face Vonand of Meghalaya in the summit clash, Wednesday.
Meanwhile, in the other semifinal of the day Sudeep of Orissa lost to Jagmohan of Haryana in the 75-81 kg light heavy category. However by qualifying for the semifinals, he assured himself of a bronze medal.
