Army Major sets world record with 154 km standing motorcycle stunt

Sambalpur: Major Amrit Panda, an Indian Army officer from Sambalpur, has brought laurels to Odisha by setting a Guinness World Record after riding a motorcycle for 154km (95.69 miles) while standing upright without holding the handlebars.

The record was achieved November 5 at the Army Service Corps (South) in Bengaluru, surpassing the previous record of 107.92km, set by Abhijit Singh Grewal of the ASC Tornadoes December 4, 2022.

Major Panda, a resident of Dhuchurapada near Gangadhar Meher University in Sambalpur, leads the ASC Tornadoes team and has extensive experience in leading military personnel in motorcycle daredevil performances across India.

He is the son of Bijay Panda and Pushparani Panda. His uncle, Deepak Kumar Panda, shared the achievement Saturday. Several organisations in Sambalpur have congratulated Major Panda on his remarkable feat.
