ASEAN members invited to attend ‘Make in Odisha’ meet

Bhubaneswar: The state government Tuesday invited all ASEAN countries and investors to participate in the biennial global investor’s summit ‘Make in Odisha Conclave’, scheduled to be held here from November 11 to 15 next.
A high-level state delegation told the ASEAN-India Business and Investment Meet organised in New Delhi Tuesday that the state government will have tailor-made policies and incentive framework to facilitate investments from the ASEAN region.
The delegation told the investors that Orissa has been a top performing state in the country in terms of achieving sustained high economic growth and has consistently ranked amongst the top three states in terms of live manufacturing investments.
Orissa has also been recognised by Government of India as a ‘Champion State’ for exports and a ‘Leader’ in implementation of business reforms.
The delegation from the state also participated in the 42nd joint meeting of India-Japan Business Cooperation Committee (IJBCC) and highlighted the investment opportunities offered in the six sectors identified as priority sectors by the state government.
Recognized as the leader in implementation of business reforms, Odisha accounted for 7.5 per cent of total manufacturing investment made in India.
