New Delhi: The Indian table tennis and women’s football teams left for Hangzhou Monday for the Asian Games, both squads presenting pictures of confidence ahead of the mega event.

The Asian Games-bound women’s football team was given a heartfelt and enthusiastic send-off at the Indira Gandhi International Airport here as they made their way for the 19th Asian Games in the Chinese city.

“As they are set to open an incredible new chapter of their career in China, we wish everyone all the very best,” the Sports Authority of India (SAI) said in a tweet Monday.

The table tennis team too was given a rousing send-off in New Delhi. Led by Commonwealth Games men’s singles gold medallist Achanta Sharad Kamal, the Indian teams will be hoping to improve on their performance in the 2018 edition of the Games.

In 2018, India won two bronze medals with the men’s team claiming third place in the Team Competition while the pair of Achanta Sharath Kamal and Manika Batra claimed bronze in the mixed doubles competition.
