Bhandaripokhari: An attempt by miscreants to loot an SBI ATM was foiled by local residents at Malda near Bhandaripokhari in Bhadrak district Wednesday night.
At about 12 am, a tractor driver spotted the attempt of miscreants to loot the ATM. He immediately informed local residents at the nearby Malda market following which one of the miscreants was caught. He was the driver the Maruti van allegedly used by the miscreants.
Though the looters were successful in their attempt to break open the machine, they were unable to take cash out of it.
Police detained two persons, including the tractor driver.
