Jagatsinghpur: An attempt to loot cash from a Bank of Baroda ATM here failed after the robbers were unable to dispense cash from the machine.
The CCTV footage of the incident shows that the crime took place late Monday night between 2:30am and 4:00am. An FIR on this context was lodged Tuesday by a senior manager of the bank Rudra Pratap Sahoo with local police.
According to a source, the miscreants entered from the back side into the ATM and attempted to break open the ATM but failed in their attempt. The entire incident has been captured in the CCTV footage.
A large part of the ATM was damaged by the miscreants but the money stored in the machine was safe.
The miscreants will soon be identified on the basis of the footage from the surveillance cameras installed inside the ATM, the inspector in-charge (IIC) Rajnikant Mishra said and added that a detailed investigation into the incident is underway.
