Bhubaneswar: Prof Nalini Pati, Australia, head of the World Communicators Council (WCC) — a global initiative of the Public Relations Council of India (PRCI) — was felicitated at a ceremony held at Bhubaneswar Club recently. The event was presided over by eminent PR professional Rabi Narayan Mahapatra, senior national vice-president of PRCI and former CPRO of Eastern and East Coast Railways. Eminent journalist Ashok Panda, Odisha state head of PRCI and former head of The Times of India, Bhubaneswar, delivered the welcome address.
Veteran journalist Dilip Bisoi, vice-chairman of PRCI and former Information Commissioner of Odisha, attended the meeting as guest of honour. Eminent poet and columnist Nirakar Das, chairman of PRCI Bhubaneswar chapter and former senior PRO, East Coast Railway proposed the vote of thanks. Speaking on the occasion, noted haematologist and oncologist at Canberra Hospital, Australia, Prof Pati said, “Public Relations is an idea essential to every field of human life and every organisation.” Mrs Pati was also felicitated during the event. It may be mentioned that the WCC’s Australia Chapter began functioning under the leadership of Prof Pati after its inauguration during the 19th Global Conclave held in Goa last September. During the felicitation meeting, PRCI and WCC Head Mentor & Chairperson MB Jayaram and National President Githa Shankar joined online to congratulate him.
