‘Avengers: Endgame’ scripts history, sells a million tickets

The film registered an opening day collection of Rs 53.10 crore.

BookMyShow witnessed a peak of 18 tickets per second, even before the movie’s releases in cinemas April 26 in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu

BHUBANESWAR: The highly anticipated sequel of Infinity War, ‘Avengers: Endgame’ has made history in India with 1 million advance ticket sales. That’s a whooping 18 tickets sold per second. All the multiplexes and single-screened theatres in the city registered sell-outs for the weekend.

Birendra Kumar Mohanty, owner of Swati, Sriya and Stutee complexes, said, “All the shows in Swati and Sriya are sold out for weekends. It will be sold out for the next weekend as well. Fans expectations from ‘Avengers: Endgame’ is very high indeed.”

Film expert Sriram Ray said, “After Baahubaali and Infinity war, the craze for ‘Avengers: Endgame’ has gone up by several notches. The film will showcase the whole MCU universe. Fans can hardly wait to watch their beloved heroes resurrect after being defeated by Thanos in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’.

Roshan Bisoi, a city-based MCU fan, said, “The Marvel Cinematic Universe which started with Iron Man in 2008, gave us more than 22 awesome movies. Avengers: Endgame is the finale of this series. It’s been a long time now since it all started. Each and every fan is curious as to what happens to Thanos and all the other heroes after the snap.”

“We can expect some of the majour characters to depart as MCU will start creating movies for the next phase. The third phase of MCU will conclude after Spider-Man: Far From Home which would be released after Endgame,” he added.

Another fan Chiranjeev Rai said, “Endgame has an emotional appeal as well because it will be end of the Phase III. We may witness the end of many stars of MCU such as Iron Man, Thor and Captain America whose contacts end after this movie.”

Roshni Nayak said, “The Avengers have received unprecedented love and support from their worldwide fans for more than a decade now. The MCU had created a fictional world which made is richly entertained. This trend will continue with movies like Spiderman: Far From Home. Other heroes like Black Panther and Doctor Strange may be key players in the fourth phase of MCU. Finally, we can also watch Black Widow’s standalone movie and a TV series on Scarlet Witch and Loki in the new Disney web channel Disney Plus.”

“I hope Indian cinema can take a leaf out of the book of MCU and make such superhero movies. We have many Indian characters such as Dhruva and Nagraaj who can be showcased in such movies,” she added. Judging by the level of excitement and sell-out of theatres, ‘Avengers: Endgame’ is all set to break numerous records in the movie industry.
