Bhubaneswar: Balakrishna Mohapatra Friday took over as the new State Information Commissioner (SIC) of Odisha.
Governor Ganeshi Lal administered him oath of office and secrecy.
A simple oath-taking ceremony was held in the Raj Bahwan here on this context that was attended by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Leader of Opposition Pradipta Naik and Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy among others.
Odisha Information Commission has been constituted under Section 15(1) of the Right to Information Act, 2005 (Act 22 of 2005).
