Balangir: A forester was found hanging at staff quarters in Odisha’s Balangir district, prompting a police investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
According to reports, the deceased was identified as Byasadev Sahu, who was posted as a forester at the Thikadarpada Range. His body was found hanging from a railing at the staff quarters behind the Range Office Sunday evening.
Other forest department employees alerted police. A team reached the spot and began an investigation. The circumstances leading to his death have not been established. Police are examining the case to determine the circumstances surrounding his death.
Meanwhile, Sahu’s family has alleged that “pressure from senior officials at the workplace may have contributed to his death”. They have sought a detailed investigation into the allegations.
