Cuttack, Jan 21: Balasore and Cuttack-A took crucial first innings lead against Koraput and Jajpur on day one of their respective two-day Super League ties of the U-16 Sumit Bose Memorial Inter-District cricket tournament at various grounds here Wednesday.
At the SCB Ground, Balasore got an important first innings lead of 114 runs. Opting to bat first, Koraput were bundled out for a meagre 48 runs in their first innings, thanks to a five wicket haul by Subha Sankar Behera (5/13). In reply, Balasore could manage only 162 runs. Koraput were 27/1 in their second essay at stumps.
At the Sunshine Ground, Cuttack-A (133/5) got 34-runs first innings lead against Jajpur who were all out for 99 runs as Rajesh Ranjan Das (5/15) returned with a five wicket haul for cuttack-A
