Puri: The Banajaga Yatra team from Srimandir which has been camping at Deuli Mutt in Kakatpur since April 2, left the mutt Sunday morning in search of darus (neem trees) with special attributes to be used for idols of deities Jagannath, Balabhadra, Devi Subhadra and Sudarshan for Nabakalebara Yatra. The delegation branched out into four groups, each led by a chief badagrahi, and set out in the directions suggested to them in their dreams by Maa Mangala through a prophesy on the location of the darus. After the majana niti (specialised bathing ritual) of Maa Mangala and the receipt of agyanmala (go-ahead order) for search of darus, Banajaga Yatra members had been chanting the swapnabati mantra (an invocation for inducing dreams) before going to sleep.PNN
