Bhubaneswar, Sept 25: To boost retail lending under ‘Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana’ (PMMY), banks in state are likely to disburse around Rs 543 crore during the upcoming mega credit camp (MCC) scheduled to be held from Friday, an official of State Level Banker’s Committee (SLBC) said. “During this campaign, banks are targeting to disburse Rs 543 crore of ‘Shishu loans’ (loans with value of less than Rs 50,000) under PMMY in the state. The initiative, which was launched by the centre last year, is likely to support growth of small enterprises and businesses in the state,” an official told Orissa POST.
Elaborating on disbursal during the camp, the official said, targets for public sector banks are set at Rs 364crore, which will be given to 72,775 accounts holders. The major chunk of disbursal among the PSUs will be done by State Bank of India (SBI) with a target of Rs 103 crore to 20,525 account holders.
“The private sector banks will also take part in the camp. During the camp, private banks are likely to disburse an amount of Rs 56crore to 11,250 account holders,” he said adding Regional Rural Banks (RRB) will also disburse an amount of Rs123 crore to 24,575 numbers of accounts. “On the first day, the camp will be held in 11 districts such as Angul, Balasore, Bargarh, Bolangir, Ganjam, Kendrapara, Khurda,Koraput, Malkangiri, Mayurbhanj and Sambalpur,” the official said adding on the concluding day, the camp will be held in three districts namely Dhenkanal, Keonjhar and Nabarangpur.
